Aegos-Potămos

or Aegos-Potămi (Αἰγός Ποταμός). A small river in the Thracian Chersonesus, on which was a town of the same name. Here the Athenians were totally defeated by the Spartan admiral Lysander in B.C. 405, practically terminating the Peloponnesian War (q.v.), and leading to the capture of Athens.
