One of the oldest of the Orphic poets, the author of an epic on the descent of Orpheus into
Hades. (See
Orphic Poets.)
2.
A Milesian poet, the rival of Hesiod. He is said to have written an epic called
Aegimius, which is, by some, ascribed to Hesiod himself. See
Hesiodus.
