Cossaea

Κοσσαία). A district on the confines of Media and Persia, inhabited by a rude, warlike, predatory people, the Cossaei, whom the Persian kings never subdued. They were conquered by Alexander (B.C. 325-324), but after his death they soon regained their independence.
