Dalmatius

A nephew of Constantine the Great. He was invested by this emperor with the title of Caesar, and commanded against the Goths in Thrace, Macedonia, and Greece. Dalmatius fell in a tumult of his own soldiers, A.D. 337, brought about by the intrigues of Constantius, after the death of Constantine (Zosim. ii. 39 foll.).
