A town in Mesopotamia on the Euphrates, founded by the Macedonians. It was also styled Nicanŏris and Eurōpus (Ammian. Marc. xxiii. 5).


2.

A fortified place in Assyria on the Tigris (Polyb. v. 52). It is still called Dúr.
