Δείνων and Δίνων). The father of the historian Clitarchus (q.v.), and himself the author of a history of Persia, frequently referred to by the ancient writers—e. g. Nepos ( Con. 5), Plutarch ( Alex. 36, et saep.), Aelian (H. A. xvii. 10), and Diogenes Laertius (i. 8). He flourished about 275 B.C. Only fragments of his history survive.
