Fasēlus

φάσηλος). A light boat or skiff, made of wicker-work, papyrus, or even of baked earth (fictilis, Juv.xv. 127), and said to have received its name from the faselus or kidney-bean, because of a resemblance in shape. It was of various sizes, and used with or without sails (Ad Att. i. 13; Serv. ad Georg. iv. 289).
