Fimbria, C. Flavius
1.
A jurist and an orator, consul B.C. 104 (Cic.
pro Planc. 5; 21;
Brut. 34;
45).
2.
Son of the preceding, and one of the most violent partisans of Marius and Cinna during the
civil war with Sulla. In B.C. 86 he was sent into Asia as legate of Valerius Flaccus, whom he
induced the soldiers to put to death. He then carried on war against Mithridates; but in 84
he was attacked by Sulla , and being deserted by his troops, put an end to his life (Livy,
Epit. 32).
