Nasamōnes

Νασαμῶνες). A powerful, but savage, Libyan people, originally inhabiting the shores of the Great Syrtis, but driven inland by the Greek settlers of Cyrenaïca, and afterwards by the Romans (Herod.iv. 172; cf. ii. 32). Like the Chinese, they worshipped their ancestors. See Niger.
