Pityūsae

A group of small islands in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Spain, and lying to the southwest of the Baleares. They derived their name from the number of pine-trees (πίτυς, “a pine”) which grew in them. The largest is Ebusus (Ivica), and next to it is Ophiusa (Ias Columbretes). See Mela, ii. 7.
