Sogdiānus

Σογδιανός). One of the illegitimate sons of Artaxerxes I. Longimanus. He acquired the throne on the death of his father (B.C. 425) by the murder of his legitimate brother Xerxes II. Sogdianus, however, was murdered in his turn, after a reign of seven months, by his brother Ochus. See Persia.
