Salmantĭca

Now Salamanca, called Helmantĭca or Hermandica by Livy and Elmantĭca by Polybius (iii. 14). An important town of the Vettones in Lusitania, south of the Durius, on the road from Emerita to Caesaraugusta (Saragossa).
