Catadūpa

（τὰ Κατάδουπα and οἱ Κατάδουποι). A name given to the cataracts of the Nile, and also to the parts of Aethiopia in their neighbourhood (Herod.ii. 17). The Latin word is used as a neuter plural. See Nilus.
