Medaura, Madaura, Ad Medĕra

or Amedĕra. A city of Northern Africa, on the borders of Numidia and Byzacena. It was the birthplace of Apuleius. It is probably to be identified with the Madaura, to which St. Augustine was sent to be educated (Confess. ii. 3).
