Regaliānus, Regalliānus

or Regilliānus. A Dacian who served with distinction under the emperors Claudius and Valerian. The Moesians, terrified by the cruelties inflicted by Gallienus on those who had taken part in the rebellion of Ingenuus, suddenly proclaimed Regalianus emperor, and quickly, with the consent of the soldiers, in a new fit of alarm, put him to death, A.D. 263. Hence he is enumerated among the Thirty Tyrants (q.v.).
