ANADESME (ἀναδέσμη), part of the
headdress usually worn by Greek women (Il.
22.469; Eur. Med. 978). It seems to
have been a band of cloth used to fasten up the back hair, and is apparently
to be identified with the μίτρα. [MITRA]
