BICOS (βῖκος), an earthen vessel in common use among the Greeks. (Pollux, 6.14, 7.162, 10.73.) Hesychius (s. v.) defines it as a στάμνος with handles. It was used for holding wine (Hdt. 1.194; Xen. Anab. 1.9, § 25), and salted meat and fish. (Athen. 3.116 f.)
