CERDO

CERDO (κέρδων), a name applied to slaves or lower class of workmen (Juv. 4.153, 8.182; Pers. 4.51), sometimes with the additional name of the trade, as sutor cerdo, a cobbler (Mart. 3.59); cerdo faber, a smith (Spon, Misc. Erud. Ant. 221).
