CIL´LIBA

CIL´LIBA (κιλλίβας, cillibantium).

1. In Greece, a trestle or stand for anything, especially for a shield (Aristoph. Ach. 1122 et Schol. Hesych. sub voce).

2. In Rome, a dining table, at first square (Varro, L. L. 5.118), then round. (Festus, “cillibae mensae rotundae.” )
