CA´STAMON (Castamouni), a town of Paphlagonia, often mentioned by the Byzantine historians. Castamouni is a considerable town, which is placed in the maps on the Amnias, a branch of the Halys. (Cramer, AsiaMinor, vol. i. p. 239.) [G.L]
