PROTUNICA a place in Bithynia, on the road from Nicaea to Ancyra. (Itin. Hieros. p. 573.)
It is possibly the same place as Protomacrae (Πρωτομάκραι) mentioned by Ptolemy (5.1.13). [L.S]
