PHILOBOEO´TUS

PHILOBOEO´TUS (Φιλοβοιωτός), a fertile woody hill in the plain of Elateia in Phocis, at the foot of which there was water. (Plut. Sull. 16.) This description, according to Leake, agrees with the remarkable insulated conical height between Bissikéni and the Cephissus. (Northern Greece, vol. ii. p. 194.)
