TU´TIA

TU´TIA (Τουττία, Plut. Sert. 19), a place in the territory of the Edetani in Hispania Tarraconensis not far from Sucro, the scene of a battle between Pompey and Sertorius (Plut. l.c.; Florus, 3.22.) It is thought to be the modern Tous. But perhaps the conjecture of Ukert (ii. pt. i. p. 413) is correct that in both these passages we should read Turia.
