THY´MBRIA (Θυμβρία), a small town of Caria, only 4 stadia east of Myus on the banks of the Maeander; in its neighbourhood there was a socalled Charonium, or cave from which poisonous vapours issued. (Strab. xiv. p.636.) [L.S]
