UXELLUM

UXELLUM (Οὔξελλον, Ptol. 2.3.8), a town of the Selgovae in Britannia Barbara. Camden (p. 1193) takes it to have been on the river Euse in Eusedale; whilst Horsley (p. 366) identifies it with Caerlaverock near Dumfries.
