Eth. VARCIANI (Οὐαρκιανοί), a tribe in Upper Pannonia, which is mentioned by both Pliny (3.28) and Ptolemy (2.15.2), but of which nothing is known, except that it probably occupied the western portion of Slavonia. [L.S]
