- “Λέγεται ἄνδρα ἐκπεπλῆχθαι πολύν τινα χρόνον ἐπὶ τῷ κάλλει τοῦ Κύρου” “it is said that a man had been struck with amazement for some time at the beauty of Cyrus (i.e. ἐξεπέπληκτο）.” XEN. Cyr. i. 4, 27.
- “Ἀντέλεγον, λέγοντες μὴ ἐπηγγέλθαι πω τὰς σπονδὰς ὅτ᾽ ἐσέπεμψαν τοὺς ὁπλίτας” “saying that the truce had not yet been proclaimed （ἐπήγγελτο）.” THUC. v. 49.
