Even in Attic prose, this use of εἶναι (773) sometimes occurs; as in DEM. xxix. 25, μνημονεύουσιν ἀφεθέντα τοῦτον ἐλεύθερον εἶναι τότε, they remember his having been then manumitted (so as) to be a freeman. So ἀφίησιν αὐτὰ δημόσια εἶναι, he gives them up to be public property, THUC. ii. 13.
