[14] ἔνας καὶ ἐς ἀῶ, 'since to-morrow and to-morrow, and from year to year'; cf. Hesiod, ῎Εργ. 408 εἴς τ᾽ αὔριον εἰς τ᾽ ἔννηφιν: Lucian, i. 229 ὦ ῞Ηλιε μὴ ἐλάσῃς τήμερον μηδ᾽ αὔριον μηδ᾽ ἐς τρίτην ἡμέραν. Observe that ἐς is to be used thus only when the date is still prospective; εἰς τὴν ἐπιοῦσαν ἱκέται ἥκοντες, Lucian, Tox. 55, is incorrect for τῇ ἐπιούσῃ.
