φρονέω (φρήν), subj. φρονέῃσι: use the mind, have living thoughts, live, Il. 22.59; have in mind, hence consider, think, intend; ἄριστοι μάχεσθαί τε φρονέειν τε, intellectual activity opp. to physical prowess, Il. 6.79; to express opinion, foll. by inf., Il. 3.98; sentiment, habit of mind, πυκινὰ φρονέειν (intelligence), ἶσόν τινι φρονέειν, ἀμφίς, εὖ, κακῶς, be ‘well’ or ‘ill - disposed,’ Od. 7.74, Od. 18.168.
