Noctisque deos, as in the invocation of Medea already referred to, VII. 192-8. The expression is to be understood of the children of Nox, according to Theog. 211-25: “Νὺξ δ᾽ ἔτεκε στυγερόν τε Μόρον καὶ Κῆρα μέλαιναν καὶ Θάνατον, τέκε δ᾽ ῾Ύπνον, ἔτικτε δὲ φῦλον Ὀνείρων.
