εἰ μὴ ἄρα: unless, forsooth. Cf. εἰ μὴ ἄρα δεινὸν καλοῦσιν οὗτοι λέγειν τὸν τἀληθῆ λέγοντα unless, forsooth, these gentlemen call him eloquent who speaks the truth Plato Apol. 17B.
