τὰ εὐεργετήματα] ‘any benefits conferred’, because they are necessarily conferred on others, and therefore, so far, more praiseworthy than acquisitions. These are distinguished from εὐπραγίαι περὶ ἄλλους (ante), which are ‘any good and noble deeds done in the service of others, and not for oneself’, for the same reason as the preceding. Eth. Nic. IV 15, 1163 a 1, καλὸν δὲ τὸ εὖ ποιεῖν μὴ ἵνα ἀντιπάθῃ, ὠφέλιμον δὲ τὸ εὐεργετεῖσθαι.
