3. ἐπαιρόμενος, of rais- ing (as a threat). Harpocr.: ἀντὶ τοῦ ἐπανατεινόμενος, Δημοσθένης ἐν τῷ ὑπὲρ Κτησιφῶντος. Cf. XIX. 153, οὐδὲν ἂν ὑμῖν εἶχεν ἀνατείνασθαι φοβερόν (of threats of Philip); and Eur. Iph. T. 1484, παύσω δὲ λόγχην ἣν ἐπαίρομαι ξένοις (of a spear uplifted to strike). (Bl.) ἐπαιρόμενος is imperfect, as is shown by τὰ πρὸ τούτων.

5. παρὼν, though present: see §§ 83.6 and 117.7.

6. Διώνδας: mentioned with con- tempt in § 249.9.—τὸ μέρος (sc. πέμπτον), see notes on §§ 103.2, 266.6.

7. ψηφίσματα: for the plural see note on § 223.5.—ἀποπεφευγότα, acquitted (on the γραφὴ παρανόμων): τὸ φεῦγον ψήφισμα, XXIII. 58, is the decree on trial.

8. γραφέντα, indicted: cf. γρα- φέντα, proposed, § 86.4. See note on § 56.4.
