σκοπεῖν, which implies the pursuit of an aim, is followed by an object-clause introduced by ὅπως and containing three futures indicative; the construction is normal.

πορρωτέρω, ‘further,’ i.e. ‘into a worse plight.’

πάντα, ‘the whole situation.’

ἐπιστήσεται, ‘rise up to threaten us,’ as in Dem. 18. 176 τὸν ἐφεστηκότα κίνδυνον τῇ πόλει.

μέγεθος δυνάμεως, equivalent to τοσαύτη δύναμις.
