If a preposition belongs to an omitted “ἐστί” or “εἰσί”, it retains its primitive accent as an adverb. E. g. A 174, “πάρ᾽ ἐμοί γε καὶ ἄλλοι”, i. e. “πάρεισι”. A 515, “οὔ τοι ἔπι δέος”, i. e. “ἔπεστι”. E 740, “ἔν” (= “ἔνεστι”).
