This text is part of:
οἶμαι, “to be sure.” αὐτὸν, sc. τινὰ, “a man himself.” μή τί γε, “much less.” Cf. Latin ncdum (sometimes nc). In both cases there is an ellipse of a subjunctive, here ἐπιτάττῃς. The full construction would be, “I say not even, lest you should think you can order.” ἐφ᾽ ἅπασι, “on all occasions.” μήτε καιρὸν μήθ᾽ ὥραν παραλ. A slight zeugma. ἐκεῖνο. The object thrown forward, referring to what follows. In English we can only say “this,” not “that”; but cf. Latin illud (commoner than hoc).
