ἀγνωμόνως ἔχετε. ἀγνώμων is (1) unreasoning, as here; (2) unfeeling. ὥστε . . . ἐλπίζετε. Cf. note on ὅστις ἀγνοεῖ, i. § 15, “that you really expect.” ἔχον ἐστὶ φύσιν=ἔχει φύσιν. φύσις forms no adjective of the required sense, but ἔχον ἐστὶ φύσιν parallels εὔλογον more closely than would ἔχει φύσιν. ἔχοντας φυλάττειν, for φυλ. ἅ ἄν τις ἔχῃ. πάντα, object of κτήσασθαι, and perhaps, but not necessarily, of φυλάττειν as well.
