τοῖς ἄλλοις: those others, added emphatically as a limiting after-thought, at the close of the sent. and the beginning of the verse, in order to prepare the way for the following contrast.

Ἀφροδίτη: elsewhere also the last word in the verse is contrasted with the first word. cf. Od. 1.33.

132 = 821.

ἔλθῃσι: “ἔλθῃ”.

οὐτάμεν: cf. “οὖτα Δ” 525.

133 = “α 319, ζ” 41.

ἀπέβη: Athena withdrew from Diomed, but seems to have remained on the battle-field. Mark her activity at 290. At 418 ff. she is again on Olympus.
