[231] μᾶλλον: better, more willingly.

ὑφ᾽ ἡνιόχῳ κτλ.: Aeneas did not often serve as charioteer on the battle-field, but his horses knew his voice (234), and doubtless he had often driven them.

καμπύλον: with reference to the bent “ἄντυγες”. See on 262. cf. “ἀγκύλον ἅρμα Ζ” 39, which differs only metrically from this expression.
