Κύπριν: Aphrodite bears this name in Homer only in this Fifth Book. cf. 422, 458, 760, 883. But in Od. 8.362 ff. she has a sanctuary at Paphos. The same name is given to her in the ‘Homeric Hymn’ to Aphrodite. This has been urged as one of several indications of a Cyprian origin of the poet of E.
