ἀλύουσα: frantic, beside herself, with pain.

ἀπεβήσετο: this ‘mixed’ aor. (§ 30 j) secures a dactyl before the Bucolic diaeresis. cf. 745; see on “ἐλαυνέμεν 327. — τείρετο δέ”: “for she was distressed.”
