[499] ἄχνας: Attic “ἄχυρα”, cf. “ἀχυρμιαί 502. — φορέει”: frequentative, keeps bearing.

ἱεράς: sc. to Demeter. Flour is called “ἀλφίτου ἱεροῦ ἀκτή Λ 631. — ἀλωάς” (“ἀλοάω”): threshingfloor. These were in the open air. For the pl., cf. “ὀχέων, δώματα, τόξα”.
