[516] μετάλλησαν (‘metal’): sc. “μίν”, about his rescue.

γε μέν: equiv. to “μέντοι”, and takes the place of a conjunction. § 2 m.

οὔ τι: at the close of the verse since, for emphasis, the verb is placed at the head of the clause.
