ἀνάσσειν: correl. with “βίην”. For the meaning of the verb, see on “Ἀστυάνακτα” 403.—Here Hector thinks no longer of the destruction of Troy (cf. 448 f.),—forgetting the war and its dangers at the sight of his child.
