τούτους: is defined by the following τὴνπόλιν. With καίφασι the subject changes, so that αὐτούς refers to the same as οἵ, while τούτους furnishes the subject for καίφασι.
οἰδεῖκαὶὕπουλόςἐστι: the first term denotes an external swelling or bloated condition, which may, however, for the time have all the appearance of health; the latter, the internal and hence invisible seat of disease.
