πρῶτον μέν With this series, πρῶτον — εἶτα — ἔπειτα — ἔτι, cp. Soph. El. 261 — 271, πρῶτα — εἶτα — ἔπειτα — τελευταῖον. ἀναγκαίους ‘near relations’. συγγενεῖς is the larger term, including the more distant degrees of kinship: ἀναγκαῖοι (necessarii) are those to whom one is bound by the first, the closest natural ties; as τὰ ἀναγκαῖα are those things with which life cannot dispense.
