Amphitryoni'ades

Ἀμφιτρυωνιάδης), or AMPHITRYO'NIDES, a patronymic from Amphitryon, by which Heracles is sometimes designated, because his mother was married to Amphitryon. (Ov. Met. 9.140, 15.49; Pind. O. 3.26, Isth. 6.56.)
