Aristodemus wrote a work on his native city (Θηβαϊκά
), which is often referred to by ancient authors, and appears to have treated principally of the antiquities of Thebes. Suidas (s. v. ὁμολάϊος Ζεύς
, where the name Ἀριστοφάνης
has been justly corrected into Ἀριστόδημος
) quotes the second book of this work.
