1. Cyrus (called also in some editions Syrus), a native of Alexandria, who lived in the fifth century after Christ. He was first a physician and philosopher, and afterwards became a monk. He is said to have been an eloquent man, and to have written against Nestorius. (S. Gennadius, de Illustr. Vir. 100.81.)
